Berlin Philharmonic orchestra is pictured while playing the piece: Bela Bartok, Der holzgeschnitzte Prinz, Sz 60, Philharmonie Berlin (21.19 - 22.15 Uhr, 7.5.2010)
The idea is to create an image through music, picturing the media that escapes from still photography. Audience and orchestra hall give substance to the image, in which the musicians are performing their best music.
The combination of several qualities shape the image: the music, the character of the musician and the idea of the conductor. The appearance of the musicians is a result out of these variables. The photographer steps back, without deciding on a moment to be the best, undergoing representation, and opening space for the music to become form.
